HOW DOES TATTOO LASER REMOVAL WORK?

Laser tattoo removal is a process that uses laser technology to break down the ink particles in a tattoo so that they can be gradually eliminated by the body's natural processes.

Tattoo pigment is placed into the dermis (second layer of skin), where the large ink particles cannot be absorbed by the body and therefore are permanent. They can reduce in size over time, which is why tattoos tend to fade or have a blurry appearance.

The laser emits fast pulses of light energy into the dermis and shatters the tattoo pigments into thousands of tiny fragments, which enables the body to eliminate the ink particles naturally through your body’s own immune system.

The tattoo gradually fades as the body breaks down and removes the ink over time. Multiple laser sessions are usually required for complete tattoo removal, with each session breaking down more ink and allowing your body to remove it (essentially, you’re flushing out the tattoo through your body!).
